Indigenous and Muslim Australians on Power, Representation, and the Modern Workplace
What does it truly mean to belong in the workplace? And why is representation without real power still falling short?
On 30 April 2025, we hosted a powerful session with Tanya Hosch, Executive General Manager of Inclusion at the AFL, to unpack the question of representation, power, and inclusion in today’s Australia.
In a conversation that moved well beyond buzzwords, Tanya shared her leadership journey and insights on the systemic barriers facing Indigenous and Muslim Australians in the workplace. From the cost of performative inclusion to the power of culturally respectful practices like prayer spaces and Indigenous protocols, the discussion was both practical and deeply personal.
Thank you to Tasneem Chopra OAM for moderating with heart and clarity, and to every attendee who joined us to challenge the status quo.
Let’s keep pushing for structures—not just statements—that support real equity.
