Joining the throng of business leaders taking part in the 2024 Vinnies CEO Sleepout at White Bay Cruise Terminal in Sydney on Thursday 20 June, is Salaam Foundation’s Executive Director Talal Yassine OAM.

Giving up his bed for a night and sleeping out to support Vinnies’ and the 120,000+ Australians who don’t have a safe and secure place to live.

Professor Yassine will be sleeping rough on the night on behalf of the Salaam Foundation to provide food, accommodation and essential services to people experiencing homelessness every day.

For Mr Yassine, it will be the first time he has taken part in the annual CEO Sleepout.

“As we enter the colder months of the year here in Sydney, I’m reminded how fortunate most of us are having a warm bed to sleep in every night. However, for some people that aren’t as fortunate, we thought we would lend a hand at raising awareness and some money to make it a little bit easier for those that experience homelessness every year,” Professor Talal Yassine OAM.

Salaam Foundation has long supported the need to break the cycle through its Helping the Homeless programs, one of four key pillars integral to the not-for-profits purpose.

By creating Australian first initiatives and partnering with not-for-profits and social enterprises we aim to provide Australians experiencing homelessness the support and opportunities they need.

“With my team behind me and alongside other leaders in business, community, and government, I am already so humbled by the outpouring of support to raise awareness and highlight the realities of homelessness.

“Salaam Foundation is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support shown by everyone who has already donated and the collective fundraising efforts across our industry.

“The Sleepout promises to be an incredible, eye-opening night that unlocks compassion and understanding whilst raising lots of money to help Vinnies change people’s lives.” Professor Yassine OAM said.
